I am a molecular geneticist interested in splice site selection during pre-mRNA splicing in eukaryotes. My laboratory takes a genetic approach to this problem using Arabidopsis thaliana and Drosophila melanogaster. I am in the Dept. of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Maryland. I am also affiliated with the Center for Bioinformatics and Compuational Biology, with the Dept. of Biology and with graduate programs in Molecular and Cell Biology (MOCB) and Behavior, Ecology, Evolution and Systematics (BEES). I organize a multi-lab meeting on Genetics with Eukaryotic Model Organisms (GEMS) and my laboratory participates in the Arabidopsis thaliana Research Initiative at the University of Maryland (AtRIUM).
