| Research Interests: Molecular biology of pathogenic animal viruses. |
Research in Dr. Samal's laboratory focuses on the genetic organization of two
important animal viruses. Specifically, we are interested in identifying the control
signals for replication, transcription, and packaging of viral genome. Our ultimate
goal is to produce live viruses from cloned cDNA which will greatly facilitate
vaccine development, virus genetics, and virus-host-interaction.
