            On May 7, 2004 the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics and the American Society for Microbiology presented awards to the following students for their hard work in the field. The following students received Departmental Honors: Eric Buchner, Anna Burrows, Michael Donnelly, Jeff Liesch, Angela  Pugliese and Tam Dan Quachi. ASM would like to congratulate you all in your recent achievements. The following students were also initiated in the same ceremony into Sigma Alpha Omicron : Eric Buchner, Anna Burrows, Lindsey Graver and Laurie Twardzik. Congratulations from the ASM @ UMD. During the same event Yuda Anriany, Sean Conrad, and Dorothy Belle Poli  were recipients of the CTE Distinguished Assistant award.

    * First Look Fair

    ASM would like to the inform the University body that it will be having a Table at this years First Look Fair where a member and/or Officer would be there to explain what the Society has to offer to the student body.

    * Speaker from UPenn comes to speak about graduate school

    Thursday October 28. Dr Marisa Bartolomei from the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology, University of Pennsylvannia School of Medicne, will speak on her research and on the charateristics of the UPenn PhDand MD/PhD programs. Dr Bartolomei completed her undergraduate degree at UM in 1982 with a BS in Biochemistry!
